FROM THE PRESENT TO THE FUTURE
Wall Street is punishing sectors of economic activity that can already be replaced by artificial intelligence. Two stand out for their importance.
There are already artificial intelligences capable of developing software, including artificial intelligence systems.
The other sector is business consulting, including its highest level, which is business strategy. It is said that this will eliminate the need for junior consultants and drastically reduce delivery times and prices. This new situation pits the interests of managers and professional entrepreneurs against the owners of the companies: the shareholders.
The same is true of the public sector. Human government activity and the number of civil servants could be reduced to a minimum, as could the number of members of parliament, the judicial system (police, public prosecutor's office, and courts), ministries, and other institutions.
But it is clear that politicians have much more power than businesspeople and managers, and they are using it to perpetuate themselves. In fact, the public sector is using its staff to increase information about those it governs and social control.
In 2010, the European Union launched the Digital Agenda for Europe and Next Generation EU, approved to mitigate the consequences of the political response to the 2020 pandemic, requiring governments to allocate at least 20% of each Plan to digital transformation. It is precisely the digitization of all information that allows a few to control everything through various artificial intelligence (AI) systems that are already possible.
Absolute monarchies created a large public administration to manage their interests, and this ended up replacing the power of the nobility/Church. Will the European Union do the same with the governments of its member states?
Let's look at another perspective. AI is already destroying jobs and is the technology that, combined with automation, is capable of replacing most jobs in a few decades. One of its limitations is the amount of energy it requires, but nuclear fusion has already managed to produce more energy than it consumes.
In 2026, AI is destroying hundreds of thousands of jobs, and there will be many millions more in the coming years. Given that corruption accounts for 25% of public spending (UN, May 2, 2023, and Revolution of Corruption, Marzal 2025), there is not enough capacity for public subsidies to protect so many unemployed people.
The neo-communism (Marzal) of the European Union treaties allows for the nationalization of companies and the confiscation of private property. Both issues have been analyzed in depth in the 2024 reports by Dragui and Leta.
The outlook for 2026 and the years to come is much worse than imagined.
